How much do hair salons work (ie: profit, advertisement, and pay for employees)?

I want to get estimates on how many clients a typical hair salon gets per week , i know fri-sat are the busiest. Also how do owners compensate their employees i have heard of 2 different ways a) the owner charges hairstylist rent for use of the salon ie: $150-$300 per week but all the money they get from clients, they get to keep. or b) the owner gives the hairstylist a percentage of the haircuts that they make (ie: 40-60%). Which one is most commonHow much do hair salons work (ie: profit, advertisement, and pay for employees)?
i think it would depend on the flow of customers if you had a large flow of customers so you would have more and mroe stylist then the renting the area may be profitable. but in actuality most salons have like 4 or 5 people working including the owner, you have to think of rent for your building, power, insurances, payroll taxes, workers comp, sales and use tax, and so many other things that you have to pay out of the business profits it is a better choice to do the % because then you will be making more money. think about the math once you figure how many people come in on average and how much it is on average for a hair cut then break that down into precentages and add up what you would be getting and then you will see how it could be if you had 2 or 3 or even 4 stylists.

I hope this helps.
